Well, tehnically it isn't, as strictly speaking, 2010 is the last year of this decade, and the new one starts on 1/1/11 (lots of ones).

This decade has been eventful.

Basically, the majority of my life has been spent in it.

I've loved.

I've succeeded.

I've failed.

Incidentally, in the Tens or whatever we're going to name this decade, I will have been alive over 3 decades :O

I could potentially be 30.

And yet, I still kind of have this hope that somebody reads this shit and thinks to themselves "Yeah, same." I like to think that I'm fairly non-mainstream in my opinions and stuff, after all, I'm pretty weird, but sometimes, I'm not sure if anyone else agrees with me, or has similar thoughts.

I might start a bit of blogging again. I'm half tempted to maybe do a vlog, though I'm not really sure. IMO, they're a bit shit unless you have something good to discuss.

Today, I thought I'd mention a topic very dear to my heart.
But I can't think of anything, so I'm not going to.

Where to start...

I joined LiF pretty much at the begining, when it was still intending to be a HL2RP community. I was looking forward to getting into some of that, being fresh from TnB (I just kind of stopped playing there).

LiF sat at that sort of stage for a while, when a change of setting was proposed, Star Wars being the suggested one. I was against that, and when it was accepted, I nearly followed Bouncytube and left. However, I decided to stick around and see how things went.

They didn't, at least not in the Star Wars setting. There was no server, and the community seemed at a standstill. Once again, I contemplated ditching the stagnant thing that LiF had become. Once again, I decided to see how things went for a bit longer.

If I remember correctly, I went on holiday to France for 4 days or so, and a lot of things changed in the time I was away. Biggles suggested the setting be changed to Fallout, and this was accepted. A server appeared, and while it was still a newborn entity, it existed. The foundations for the current LiF were laid.

Things went pretty well at first, with a good admin team, and gradual growth in the community, both on the forums and the server. LiF continued to exist happily for a while, and I enjoyed my RP fairly well, joining the Outcasts, and having two or three characters that I regurlally played on.

Then the server went down. And stayed down. It was at this point that the slow decline into E-Drama began. Stan appeared, having been shown the server by someone, and decided it would be fun to mess it up (or at least that is what I think happened.) The server went through a phase of being rather unstable when it was up, and eventually Locust stepped in to save the day, offering a stable hosting deal, and a partnership of sorts with NecropolisRP. However, the server/community never really recovered fully, and the player numbers have not been as high as they were before 'The Fall' or whatever you want to call it.

I became an Admin shortly after this, Advantage announcing my TRA-ness on the server, whilst I had just gone BRB. As an admin my perception of the community changed, and at points I felt I was losing intrest, and not finding it fun anymore. I trudged along, trying to be as impartial and unbiased as possible, doing what Admins do: have people try and brown-nose you for things.

I became an SRA at the same time that a large number of players were promoted to TRA, and existing TRA's were promoted, a few skipping a rank, causing annoyance with many existing admins. The drama that followed basically split the admin team, and caused many admins to leave either the LiF Admin team, or LiF entirely.

That brings us to the present situation. LiF is currently in a delicate balance, and it wouldn't take a huge amount to upset it. I try to avoid becoming involved in drama and general internet bullshit antics, but unfortunately, many of my close friends are pretty in there with all of that. It's happened before, both IRL and Online, where I have been in the middle of two close friends falling out. I don't want to lose either, but it's awfully difficult to remain in the same state as before, as things will definitely change.

Overall, LiF is one of the many sources of my melancholic nature, and often one of the reasons why I am depressed. I like LiF. I have had good times, and made good friends, but sometimes I wonder whether it was worth all the hassle.

Should I have joined LiF?
Should I have joined TnB?
Should I have bought GMod at all?

It seems that spending that £5 or whatever it was to buy GMod (before Steam worked in £'s) may have been a bad decision. Gmod led to TnB, TnB led to LiF, LiF led to drama and such.
Who knows...

On a side note: I bought Megashark Vs Giant Octopus. I may review it or something.
